Tom Waits is planning to release a live album of songs recorded on his recent tour of Europe and America. The album is set to be titled 'Glitter & Doom Live' and is due this autumn (that's “fall” to our US friends).

The story was broken by one-time Waits photographer Michael T. Regan who photographed his June '08 show in Columbus, Ohio. According to Regan, Wait's record label Anti- have asked/informed him that his photos will be featuring on Waits' latest project.

Further details are still very thin on the ground and there is no sign yet of a track list or a more specific release date. However, Regan did reveal that his images are intended for use on a gate-fold vinyl package.

The singer has received criticism for the seemingly sporadic nature of his latest tour appearances, choosing to avoid the large East and West Coast cities on the American segment of the Glitter & Doom tour and avoiding London on the European stretch. Hopefully this new live record will give the rest of us a chance to hear what we were missing.
