The talented percussionist, Sudha, from legendary electronic band Faithless has stepped into the foreground with her debut solo album 'Anti-Freeze'.
Sudha Kheterpal has enjoyed 11 years of huge global success with Faithless and has worked alongside the likes of Dido, Kylie and The Spice Girls. She's also known for her pioneering work in clubland as one of the first live percussionists, which saw her gain residencies at the likes of Cream and the Hacienda and play alongside some of the world's most renowned DJs during the house music explosion.
That old skool electronic sound remains prominent in her solo work, but her Indian roots have also influenced her production, providing more atmospheric melodies and samples from the likes of Shilpa Shetty and Lata Mangeshkar.
An exciting first single, 'Leche', featuring the haunting vocals of Zoe Johnston (Faithless, Bent) - and with remixes by Way Out West and Thomas Schwartz - will be available on February 23rd. The full album follows on Bish Bash Records on March 3rd.
'Anti Freeze', which explores the idea of defrosting - whether politically, emotionally or spiritually - demonstrates Sudha's previously hidden songwriting and production skills. Recorded around London, Paris and Berlin, the tracks follow a predominantly laid back electronic groove featuring uplifting samples and funky hooks. More info here
