Hotly-tipped Manchester group Delphic are offering four free downloads through their website.
The band, who were awarded third place in the BBC 'Sound Of 2010' poll just yesterday, are giving away free MP3s of their tracks 'Alterstate', 'Counterpoint' (Live In Amsterdam), 'This Momentary' (Live In Berlin), as well as the Paul Woolford remix of 'Counterpoint' right here.
In addition, to celebrate the launch of their album, 'Acolyte', the group will be performing a short acoustic set at Manchester's Piccadilly Records on Monday (January 11) at 5pm. The shop are saying the band will probably sign some records too, which might be a worth while undertaking, especially if the group live up to the hype and become massive.
Speaking of hype, frontman Richard Boardman recently said this, “The word backlash has more realness than the word hype for us. There’s a danger and there’s nothing we can do about it.” Which sounds remarkably level-headed and also reminds us a bit last year's nominees' The Big Pink.
Anyways, Rivmixx will be catching up with the band next week for a bit of chat and a nice sit down, so be sure to check back in the near future, should you enjoy hearing from THE NEXT BIG THING.
